Laredo is home. JCW Pools has worked on pools across the city since 2021: new builds on the north side, remodels on shells that have been in the ground since the sixties, and new equipment installed on pools of every age.
Local conditions
With months of hundred-degree afternoons, a Laredo pool is in use far longer than one further north. Equipment works harder to match: pumps, filters and heaters clock more hours, which is why sizing new equipment correctly matters more here than in a milder climate.
Local supply runs mineral-heavy. Scale at the tile line and cloudy water turn up even on well-kept pools, and heater exchangers and salt cells wear faster for it. It changes which interior finish is worth paying for.
Much of the city sits on shrink-swell clay over caliche. The clay moves with every wet and dry cycle: cracked decking, shifted coping, shells needing structural attention sooner than they would elsewhere. Caliche is also why excavation on a new build needs planning, not optimism.
